1. Overview & Privacy Commitment
OperateTools ("we", "our", or "us") provides a comprehensive suite of online file manipulation, conversion, development, and productivity tools. We operate on a privacy-first foundation. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or uploaded document contents with any third parties.
Many of our tools (including text utilities, JSON formatters, client-side image croppers, and calculators) execute 100% locally within your browser using client-side JavaScript, Web Workers, and WebAssembly. For such tools, your data never leaves your computer or device.
2. File Uploads & Document Security
For tools requiring server-side conversion or heavy document rendering (e.g. PDF to Word, OCR, or complex video conversions), we employ stringent security safeguards:
- In-Transit Encryption: All uploads and downloads occur over secure, 256-bit TLS 1.3/HTTPS encrypted communication channels.
- Automated Purge & Deletion: Uploaded source files and generated output files are stored exclusively in isolated temporary storage directories and are automatically and permanently deleted within 1 hour of processing.
- Zero Content Indexing: We never inspect, read, copy, train AI models on, or index the contents of your uploaded documents.
- Access Control: Generated download links are obfuscated and accessible only by the original user during their temporary lifecycle.
3. Information We Collect
We collect information strictly necessary to provide and safeguard our services:
- Voluntary Account Information: If you choose to create an account, we store your name, email address, password hash (via bcrypt/Argon2), and user preferences. No account is required to use the majority of our free utilities.
- Technical & Server Logs: Standard web server access logs (IP address, browser user-agent, operating system, timestamp, and HTTP status) for server diagnostics, abuse prevention, rate limiting, and cybersecurity audits.
- Contact Inquiries: If you reach out via our contact form or support email, we retain your communication history to address your request.
5. Third-Party Services & Infrastructure
We work only with reputable cloud infrastructure providers:
- Cloud Hosting & CDN: Secure server hosting and global Content Delivery Networks with high-grade physical and network security.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM): Optional web push notifications that you may opt into for tool updates or deals alerts.
- External Links: Our site may link to external websites or reference documentation (e.g. W3C, MDN). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of external websites.

7. Data Retention Policy
We do not retain user files longer than necessary to deliver your processed output. Uploaded temporary files and converted outputs are automatically purged on a rolling schedule every 60 minutes. Server logs are rotated and deleted periodically.
